Senders Overview

Purpose

Before any campaign can send, SuperSend needs to know who is sending and from where. This article explains the three-layer model — mailboxes, social accounts, and sender profiles — so you can set up sending infrastructure correctly the first time.

The Mental Model

Think of it in three layers:

Layer 1 — Individual mailboxes and social accounts

These are the actual accounts you connect: Gmail, Outlook, Mission Inbox mailboxes, LinkedIn accounts, Twitter/X accounts. Each one is a single sending identity. You can connect as many as you have. SuperSend calls these "senders."

Layer 2 — Sender profiles

A sender profile bundles together mailboxes and social accounts into one named persona. For example: "Curtis @ TeamSuperSend" might have 5 email mailboxes (for email rotation), 1 LinkedIn account, and 1 Twitter account. When a campaign uses this profile, all outreach from that campaign feels like it comes from the same person, even if it's rotating across multiple mailboxes.

Layer 3 — Campaigns

Campaigns don't connect directly to individual mailboxes — they connect to sender profiles. So when you launch a campaign, you pick which profile(s) it should send from. Multiple campaigns can share the same profile, or each can have their own.

The reason this structure exists: at volume, you want to rotate across many mailboxes to protect deliverability, but you also want recipients to feel like they're hearing from a real person. Sender profiles solve both problems.

Prerequisites

  • Team access in SuperSend.
  • Permission to manage senders.

Setup Order

  1. Add your email mailboxes — Go to Senders → click Add Sender → choose Email Sender.
  2. Add your LinkedIn account (if applicable) — Add SenderLinkedIn Account.
  3. Add your Twitter/X account (if applicable) — Add SenderTwitter/X Account.
  4. Create a sender profileSendersSender Profiles tab → Create Profile.
  5. Attach your mailboxes and social accounts to the profile.
  6. Assign the profile to a campaign in campaign SettingsSenders.

Navigating the Senders Page

Go to Senders from the team sidebar. The page has tabs:

  • Sender Profiles — your named personas used by campaigns
  • Mailboxes — all individual email mailboxes across your team
  • Domains — domains purchased or synced through SuperSend
  • Social — connected LinkedIn and Twitter/X accounts

You will spend most of your time in Sender Profiles once initial setup is done.

Expected Result

You have at least one sender profile with active mailboxes attached, and campaigns can be configured to send through it.

Troubleshooting

  • Issue: You connected a mailbox but don't see it available in a sender profile.

Fix: Go to the sender profile detail page → click Add Mailboxes to attach it.

  • Issue: Campaign has no sender profiles assigned.

Fix: Open campaign SettingsSenders tab → use the dropdown to add a profile.
