Manage Blacklist

Manage Blacklist

Purpose

The blacklist prevents SuperSend from sending to specific emails, domains, or LinkedIn profiles. Use it to block competitors, bad addresses, or anyone you never want to contact. This article explains how to add items, what levels mean, and how to bulk upload.

What the Blacklist Does

When SuperSend is about to send an email or LinkedIn message, it checks the blacklist. If the recipient's email, domain, or LinkedIn profile matches a blacklist entry, the send is blocked. No message goes out.

Blacklist Levels

Each blacklist entry has a level that controls scope:

Level

Scope

Organization

Applies to all teams and campaigns in the org.

Team

Applies only to the selected team.

Campaign

Applies only to the selected campaign.

Use org-level for global blocks (e.g., competitor domains). Use team or campaign for narrower rules.

Adding a Single Item

  1. Go to AdminBlacklist (or OrgBlacklist).
  2. Click Add Item.
  3. In the modal:
  1. Click Add.

If the item already exists, you'll see: "Blacklist item already exists."

Bulk Upload

  1. Click Upload CSV or Excel.
  2. Download the template if needed. Required column: item (email, domain, or LinkedIn URL).
  3. Fill in your CSV. One item per row.
  4. Select Level for the whole batch: Organization, Team, or Campaign.
  5. Upload. Processing may take a few minutes for large files.
  6. Confirmation: "Upload received. Processing will begin shortly."

Blacklist Table

Columns:

  • Item — The email, domain, or LinkedIn URL.
  • Type — Email, domain, or LinkedIn.
  • Reason — How it was added:
  • reply — Contact replied (auto-added if configured)
  • bounce — Email bounced
  • unsubscribe — Contact unsubscribed
  • manual — Manually added
  • bulk_import — Added via CSV/Excel upload
  • Level — Organization, Team (with name), or Campaign (with name).

Searching and Deleting

  • Search — Use "Search by item" to find specific entries.
  • Delete — Select items with checkboxes → Delete from the selection bar. Confirm: "Are you sure you want to delete X selected blacklist items?"

Auto-Add Behavior

Some orgs configure blacklist to auto-add on reply, bounce, or unsubscribe. Check Campaign SettingsOpt Outs or Integrations for those options. When enabled, those addresses are added at the level you configure.

Expected Result

You can add single items or bulk upload to the blacklist. You understand levels and how to search and remove entries. Blocked recipients will never receive messages from SuperSend at the specified scope.
