Purpose

Pull people from an Apollo.io list into SuperSend without exporting CSVs. Use this when your source of truth lives in Apollo and you want one-time or recurring imports into All Contacts (team profiles) or into a campaign.

Prerequisites

An Apollo account with a master API key (Apollo: Settings → Integrations → API).
Admin access to add or manage the Apollo integration for your org (SuperSend Admin → Integrations).
Permission to create contacts on the team (and the campaign, if importing at campaign level).

Steps

1. Connect Apollo in Admin

Open Admin → Integrations (org-level).
Add Apollo (or edit an existing row).
Paste your Apollo API Key and enable the integration.
Save so the key is stored for the teams that use it.

2. Start the import from Contacts

All Contacts (team)

Go to Contacts (sidebar).
Click Add Contact.
Choose Import from Apollo.

Campaign

Open the campaign → Contacts.
Click Add Contact (or the add/import entry point your team uses).
Choose Import from Apollo.

3. Complete the wizard

Connect — If Apollo is already linked for the team, you go straight to list selection. Otherwise enter the API key and connect.
Select List — Pick the Apollo list. Lists already set for hourly auto-sync (team imports only) show a status; you can stop auto-sync from here if needed.

Purpose

This article is for Microsoft 365 / Azure AD administrators who connect Outlook mailboxes in SuperSend using a Microsoft service account (application permissions and client credentials), instead of per-user OAuth. You will learn what SuperSend expects in Azure and where to enter credentials in the app.

Prerequisites

Azure AD role that can create app registrations and grant admin consent (e.g. Global Administrator or Privileged Role Administrator with App Registration permissions—your org’s requirements may vary).
A clear reason to use service account vs OAuth: service accounts use application permissions so mailboxes can be connected without each user signing in through Microsoft’s consent screen (typical for many mailboxes on one tenant).
For manual setup: access to Azure Portal for your tenant.

What SuperSend stores

A Microsoft service account in SuperSend is team-scoped credentials:

Application (client) ID
Directory (tenant) ID
Client secret (the secret value, not the secret ID)

These are used to obtain Microsoft Graph tokens for sending and mailbox access for Outlook senders linked to that service account.

How to Get a SuperSend Account

SuperSend is sales-led. You cannot create an account from the login page.

Book a demo with the SuperSend team.
On the call, we scope your sending program, infrastructure needs, and pricing.
If SuperSend is the right fit, we provision your organization and send login instructions (or a team invite link).

Self-serve signup is not available. If you try to register at app.supersend.io without an invite, you will be directed to log in or contact sales.

Team invites

If someone in your organization invites you, use the invite link they share. Invited users sign in with the email on the invite — they do not go through the public demo flow.

Steps

Under Custom Variables, click Add Custom Variable.
Enter a name (e.g. resume_url or proposal_url).
Set the Type to attachment.
Save the contact config.

The variable will appear as {{resume_url}} (or whatever name you chose) and can be used in your sequence.

Each contact needs the URL of their file stored in the custom field you created. You can do this by:

This setup gives you full control over your sending reputation, lets you use custom HTML email templates, and keeps all campaign management inside SuperSend.

How it works

SendGrid is an API-based email provider. Instead of connecting a single Gmail or Outlook mailbox, you connect your entire SendGrid account via an API key. SuperSend uses that key to send email through SendGrid on your behalf. You then build your newsletter as a campaign in SuperSend — using an HTML template for the email body — and assign the SendGrid sender to it.

The full path is: SendGrid account → domain authenticated → API key created → connected to SuperSend as a sender → attached to a sender profile → used in a campaign.

Step 1: Create a SendGrid Account

Go to sendgrid.com and click Start for Free (or log in if you already have an account).
Fill in your name, email, and password. SendGrid will send a verification email — click the link to confirm your account.
Complete SendGrid's onboarding questions (company name, sending volume, use case). These help SendGrid assign the right sending tier to your account.

Why DNS Matters for Email

Email providers (Gmail, Outlook, corporate servers) use DNS to validate that you're authorized to send from a domain. Missing or incorrect records cause bounces, spam folder placement, or blocks. SuperSend guides you through the setup, but you (or your IT team) must add the records at your domain registrar or DNS provider.

The Two Main Flows

1. External Domains (You Own the Domain)

If you're connecting a domain you already own (e.g., mycompany.com):

Go to Senders → Domains.
Click Connect Domain.
Enter your domain (e.g., example.com) — no https:// or trailing slashes.
Click Connect Domain. SuperSend validates the domain name and links it to your org.
DNS setup happens when you purchase mailboxes — the flow guides you through nameserver changes and record addition.

After connecting, you may see a Processing or Setting Up status while DNS propagates. A ⚠ warning icon on the domain row means nameservers aren't verified yet. Give it 24–48 hours for propagation.
