Inbox Productivity Features

Purpose

Super Inbox has keyboard shortcuts and bulk actions so you can triage conversations quickly without clicking through every one. This article covers the shortcuts and how to use bulk actions for faster inbox work.

Prerequisites

  • Access to Super Inbox
  • A team with at least one conversation (for bulk actions)

Keyboard Shortcuts

Press Shift + ? (or Shift + /) anytime to open the shortcuts overlay. The same shortcut closes it.

Key

Action

j

Move down to the next conversation in the list

k

Move up to the previous conversation

x

Select or deselect the current conversation (for bulk actions)

e

Archive the selected conversation(s), or unarchive if you're in the Archive folder

u

Mark the current conversation as unread

r

Focus the reply composer (opens reply box)

l

Open the label picker for the current conversation

Enter

Open the focused conversation, or focus reply if one is already open

/

Focus the search bar (type your search right away)

Escape

Close overlays (labels, shortcuts), or close the open conversation

Tip: Shortcuts don't work when you're typing in an input, textarea, or reply box. Click outside or press Escape first. Shift + ? works even when typing.

Bulk Actions

Select one or more conversations (click the checkbox or use x to toggle), then use the bulk action dropdown.

Action

What it does

Mark as read

Marks all selected conversations as read

Mark as unread

Marks all selected conversations as unread

Archive

Archives selected conversations (moves them to Archive)

Unarchive

Restores archived conversations (when viewing Archive folder or a Super View that includes archive)

Select all: Use the checkbox in the list header to select all currently loaded conversations. Useful when you want to archive a batch of processed leads.

Tips for Faster Workflow

  1. Use j/k to scan — Press j repeatedly to move down the list without opening each conversation. Glance at the preview in the right panel.
  2. Batch archive — Select several conversations with x, then press e to archive them all at once.
  3. Search first — Press / to focus search, type a name or keyword, then use j/k to move through results.
  4. Labels for follow-up — Open a conversation, press l, add a label like "Hot lead" or "Needs reply." Filter by that label later.
  5. Shortcuts link — At the bottom of the sidebar, click Shortcuts to open the overlay if you forget a key.

Expected Result

You can move through your inbox with j/k, select and archive in bulk, and use labels without touching the mouse. The shortcuts overlay is always one key away.

Troubleshooting

  • Issue: Shortcuts don't respond.

Fix: Click outside any input field. If you're in the reply composer or a search box, shortcuts are disabled so you don't trigger them by accident.

  • Issue: Bulk archive doesn't work.

Fix: Make sure at least one conversation is selected (checkbox checked or x on the focused one). The bulk actions apply only to selected items.

  • Issue: I don't see the Shortcuts link.

Fix: Expand the sidebar if it's collapsed. The Shortcuts button is at the bottom of the sidebar.
