Exports and Uploads Admin Tools
Exports and Uploads Admin Tools
Purpose
Org admins can export and upload data for backup, migration, or integration. This article explains what's available in the Exports and Uploads admin tools and how to use them.
Exports
The Exports tab lists past export jobs. Each row typically shows:
- Date — When the export was requested or completed.
- Type — What was exported (e.g., contacts, events, campaigns).
- Status — In progress, completed, or failed.
- Download — Button to download the file when ready. A progress bar may show download percentage.
Exports are paginated (e.g., 50 per page). Use this to retrieve data you've requested earlier.
Requesting an Export
How you request an export depends on the product:
- Some pages have an Export button (e.g., on a contacts table or campaign).
- Admin → Exports may have a New Export or similar to choose what to export (contacts, campaigns, events, etc.).
- Select filters (team, campaign, date range) and confirm. The export runs in the background. When done, it appears in the Exports list with a Download button.
Uploads
The Uploads tab shows bulk upload jobs — e.g., contact imports, blacklist uploads. Each row may show:
- Date — When the upload was initiated.
- Type — Contacts, blacklist, etc.
- Status — Processing, completed, failed.
- Details — Counts (added, updated, failed) or error messages.
Use this to track the status of large uploads and to diagnose failures.
Common Use Cases
- Export contacts — Backup or migrate contact data.
- Export events — Analyze sends, opens, clicks, replies.
- Export campaigns — Audit or migrate campaign configuration.
- Upload blacklist — Bulk add blocked addresses. See Manage Blacklist.
- Upload contacts — Bulk import; usually done from the campaign or team level, but admin may have org-wide tools.
Permissions
Exports and uploads are typically admin-only. Ensure your user has the Admin role. If you don't see these tabs, ask your org admin for access.
Troubleshooting
- Export stuck — Large exports take time. Refresh and check again. If it fails, try a smaller scope or contact support.
- Upload failed — Check the failure report. Fix CSV format (encoding, columns, required fields) and re-upload.
- Download fails — File may have expired. Request a new export.
Expected Result
You know where to find exports and uploads, how to request them, and how to track status. You can download completed exports and diagnose failed uploads.
