# Sender Statuses and What They Mean

# Sender Statuses and What They Mean

## Purpose

Senders in SuperSend show status icons and labels that tell you at a glance whether a mailbox is ready to send, disconnected, warming, or disabled. This article explains every status you'll see and what to do when something isn't right.

## Two Layers of Status

Every sender has:

1. **Active / Inactive** — Whether the sender is allowed to send (on/off).
2. **Connection status** — Whether the mailbox is connected to SuperSend (OK, Disconnected, or Unknown).

---

## Active vs Inactive

| Label | Color | Meaning |
|-------|-------|---------|
| **Active** | Green | Sender can send. Campaigns using this sender will deliver from it. |
| **Inactive** | Red | Sender is disabled. No campaigns will send from it until you reactivate. |

**To change:** Select the sender(s) in the table → use **Activate** or **Deactivate** from the bulk actions bar. Or open the sender → **Account** tab → toggle on/off.

---

## Connection Status Icons

In the Senders table, each row shows icons beside the Active/Inactive label:

| Icon | Tooltip | Meaning |
|------|---------|---------|
| ✓ Green check circle | "Sender is Connected" | Mailbox is authenticated and ready. SuperSend can send through it. |
| ✗ Red exclamation circle | "Sender is Disconnected" | Something is wrong — auth failed, token revoked, or provider blocked. Campaigns cannot send through this sender. |
| ○ Gray exclamation circle | "Sender Status Unknown" | SuperSend hasn't confirmed status yet. Check back or re-authenticate. |

---

## Warming Status

| Icon | Tooltip | Meaning |
|------|---------|---------|
| 🔥 Green fire | "Warm Up is On" | Sender is in warming mode. SuperSend is sending a controlled volume to build reputation. |
| 🔥 Gray fire | "Warm Up is Off" | Sender is not warming. Use for campaigns as usual. |

**To change:** Select sender(s) → **Turn On Warming** or **Turn Off Warming** from bulk actions.

---

## What Causes "Disconnected"

Common reasons a sender shows as Disconnected:

- **Password changed** on the underlying Gmail or Outlook account — OAuth or app password no longer works.
- **OAuth revoked** — Someone removed SuperSend's access in Google or Microsoft account settings.
- **Provider suspended** the mailbox — policy violation or abuse report.
- **SMTP credentials wrong** — For SMTP senders, the host/port/username/password may be incorrect or expired.
- **Mission Inbox / Relay** — Integration token expired or configuration changed.

**Fix:** Open the sender → **Account** tab → reconnect or re-authenticate. For Gmail/Outlook, you'll re-authorize via the provider's OAuth flow.

---

## Other Columns That Affect Sending

- **Emails Sent Today** — Shows `N / max`. If you've hit the daily limit, the sender won't send more until the limit resets (typically midnight UTC).
- **Health Score** — Reflects bounce rate and deliverability. Very low health can lead to sender being disabled automatically.
- **Domains Check** — Indicates whether the sender's domain has DNS or bounce issues.

---

## Bulk Actions You Can Take

From the Senders table, select one or more senders to:

- **Edit** — Update settings.
- **Remove from Profile** / **Assign to Profile** — Change which sender profile they belong to.
- **Activate** / **Deactivate** — Turn sending on or off.
- **Turn On Warming** / **Turn Off Warming** — Enable or disable warm-up.
- **Delete** — Permanently remove (contacts previously sent to are marked finished).
- **Restore** — Restore a deleted sender.

---

## Expected Result

You can quickly tell which senders are ready to send (Active + Connected), which need attention (Disconnected or Inactive), and which are warming. Fix disconnected senders by re-authenticating so your campaigns keep delivering.
