# LinkedIn Infinite Login (Authenticator Secret)

# LinkedIn Infinite Login (Authenticator Secret)

## Purpose

If your LinkedIn account uses **two-factor authentication with an authenticator app**, storing the **same secret** LinkedIn shows during setup lets SuperSend **restore expired sessions automatically** when possible, and shows a **live one-time code** in the app so you can finish LinkedIn’s verification screens without opening your phone. This article explains what Infinite Login does, where to configure it, and how to copy the secret safely from LinkedIn.

## Prerequisites

- A **connected LinkedIn identity** in SuperSend (see [Connect a LinkedIn Account](https://help.supersend.io/en/article/connect-a-linkedin-account-b7gy9y/)).
- **Authenticator-based 2FA** on the LinkedIn account (not only SMS, if LinkedIn still requires the app for your flow).
- Access to **Senders** for your team.

## What Infinite Login Does

- **Session restore:** When your stored LinkedIn browser session expires, SuperSend can attempt to sign in again using the **email and password** already stored for that identity.
- **Authenticator codes:** If LinkedIn asks for a **6-digit authenticator code** during that login, SuperSend can generate the code from the **authenticator secret** you save here—so automation can continue without manual OTP entry each time, within normal safety limits.
- **Live OTP in the app:** The **One-Time Password (OTP)** preview matches what an authenticator app would show, so you can paste it into LinkedIn when completing 2FA setup or verification.

Some flows (for example **mobile app approval** only) cannot be completed automatically. In those cases you’ll need to use **Re-authenticate** in the identity panel.

## Steps

### 1. Open the LinkedIn identity

1. In the left sidebar, click **Senders**.
2. Open the **Social** tab and select your **LinkedIn** identity list if needed.
3. Click the **LinkedIn identity** you want to configure. The details sidebar opens.

### 2. Go to Infinite Login

1. In the sidebar, click the **Infinite Login** tab (it appears after **Identity Details** and **Limits**).

### 3. Add the secret from LinkedIn

1. In a separate browser tab, open LinkedIn’s two-factor settings:

2. Start or manage **Authenticator app** setup until you see the **QR code** and the option to **enter the key manually**.
3. Copy the **manual entry key** (long letters/numbers), or use LinkedIn’s copy control.
4. In SuperSend, paste the key into **Authenticator secret**. The field **saves automatically** after you finish typing or when you leave the field.

### 4. Confirm with LinkedIn’s verification code

1. On LinkedIn, click **Continue** when prompted.
2. When LinkedIn asks for a **verification code**, copy the current **6-digit** code from the **One-Time Password (OTP)** section in SuperSend (it refreshes about every **30 seconds**).
3. Paste the code into LinkedIn and complete any remaining steps so 2FA stays enabled.

### 5. Optional: Test the connection

From the same sidebar, use **Test Connection** to confirm the LinkedIn session is active. If the session had expired and was restored automatically, you may see a message that the session was **automatically restored**.

## Expected Result

- **Authenticator secret** is saved and remains filled when you reopen the identity.
- **One-Time Password (OTP)** shows a rotating 6-digit code while a secret is stored.
- LinkedIn actions (messages, connection requests, etc.) can run again after session expiry **when** auto-reconnect succeeds (email/password correct, authenticator path available, and LinkedIn does not require a method we cannot automate).

## Security Notes

- The authenticator secret is **as sensitive as your password** for 2FA purposes. Anyone who can open this identity in SuperSend can generate valid codes.
- Only add it if your organization accepts storing this material in SuperSend for operational automation.

## Troubleshooting

- **Issue:** The OTP area stays empty or says there is no secret.  
  **Fix:** Make sure the **Authenticator secret** field is not blank, wait for **Saving secret…** to finish, click outside the field to trigger save, or switch tabs briefly and return. Ensure you’re editing the correct LinkedIn identity.

- **Issue:** LinkedIn rejects the code from the OTP preview.  
  **Fix:** Wait for the next 30-second window and copy the **new** code. Confirm you pasted the **manual key** from LinkedIn exactly (no extra spaces). If you rotated 2FA on LinkedIn, update the secret in SuperSend to match.

- **Issue:** Session still expires and nothing reconnects automatically.  
  **Fix:** Confirm the identity still has the correct **email and password** stored from the original connection. If LinkedIn requires **mobile approval** or a non-authenticator step, use **Re-authenticate** and complete that flow manually. Repeated failed attempts may be **rate-limited** for a period.

- **Issue:** You don’t see the **Infinite Login** tab.  
  **Fix:** It is only shown for **LinkedIn** identities.
