# Broadcast campaigns

# Broadcast campaigns

> **Availability:** Broadcasts are enabled per organization via the `broadcasts_enabled` feature flag. If you do not see the **Broadcasts** view under **Campaigns**, contact SuperSend support to request access.

Send a one-shot email to a **marketing list** or **saved segment** — without building a multi-step sequence.

## When to use broadcasts

Use broadcasts for newsletters, product updates, and lifecycle announcements to audiences you manage in **All Contacts**. Use **Campaigns** (sequences) for multi-step cold outbound or nurture flows.

## Create a broadcast

1. Open **Campaigns** in the team sidebar.
2. In the left sidebar, switch **Outbound** / **Broadcasts**.
3. Click **New Broadcast**.
4. **Details** — enter a name.
5. **Audience** — select one or more marketing lists and/or saved segments.
6. **Content** — choose a sender, subject, and email body. In **HTML** mode, use the visual email builder (blocks, preview, code view) or edit raw HTML. In **Plain text** mode, use the textarea.
7. **Review** — check the estimated audience size. Unsubscribed, bounced, and blacklisted contacts are excluded automatically.
8. Click **Send Now** or set a schedule time and click **Schedule Send**.

## After sending

Open the broadcast **Dashboard** tab for send progress, broadcast performance (delivered, opens, clicks, bounces, unsubscribes), and engagement metrics at every status — including draft and scheduled. Use the **Audience** tab to review marketing lists and segments, preview who will receive the broadcast, and browse recipients after sending. Use the **Content** tab to compose or edit subject and body (when the broadcast is editable). Use the **Events** tab for per-recipient event history. Use **Settings** to change the broadcast name, **From Sender**, and schedule.

If a broadcast finishes without delivering any emails, status shows **Failed** with an error explaining the issue (for example, no sendable recipients or inactive senders). Fix the audience or senders, then use **Send again**.

Status-specific banners on the dashboard explain pause, cancel, failed sends, and in-flight behavior. Click **Edit** in the create flow or header actions to change audience, email, or schedule before send.

## Pause and resume while sending

While a broadcast is **Sending**, click **Pause** on the detail page or in the row **⋯** menu. Sending stops as soon as workers pick up the paused state; emails already in flight to your provider may still deliver.

When **Paused**, you can edit the name, audience, email content, and delivery settings. Use **Resume send** (detail header or row menu) to continue. Resume applies your latest changes and **does not** email contacts who already received this broadcast.

## Cancel a scheduled broadcast

From the broadcast detail page, click **Cancel Broadcast** while status is **Draft** or **Scheduled**. Cancelled broadcasts that have not sent can be reopened with **Send again** to schedule or send immediately.

## Duplicate a broadcast

Use **Duplicate** in the row **⋯** menu on the broadcasts list, or in the **⋯** menu on the broadcast detail page. Enter a name for the copy (defaults to the original name plus “(Copy)”). The new broadcast is created as a **Draft** with the same audience, email content, and delivery settings. Contacts and send history are not copied.

## Delete a broadcast

Use **Delete broadcast** in the row menu on the broadcasts list, or in the **⋯** menu on the broadcast detail page. The broadcast is archived (soft-deleted) and removed from the active list. Use the **Archived** filter on the broadcasts list to view archived broadcasts. Broadcasts cannot be deleted while they are **Sending** (pause first if needed).

## Billing

Broadcast sends count against your org’s existing **send-based** email limit (`email_limit_used`), same as sequence emails.
